Cold oil can be as detrimental as overheated oil, and the integrated thermostat balances these concerns. Installation is described as simple, though specific considerations apply based on the model year. For 2019+ models, an additional installation kit (04-37249) is required, and the stock cooler must be removed as it is incompatible with this kit. Compatibility with aftermarket parts includes the non-lit Carbon Miata Spyder Grille; however, it does not fit with the lit version of that grille. For those with a BBR turbo, the kit installs as-is. If an Edelbrock supercharger is present, a heat exchanger relocation kit is necessary to accommodate the supercharger radiator. This oil cooler kit is specifically designed for the 2016-2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata (ND) and 2017-2025 RF models.
