This short block is skillfully assembled with forged pistons, forged connecting rods, and tri-metal racing bearings around a balanced forged crankshaft.

The Mountune High Performance 2.3L Ford EcoBoost short block assembly is engineered for track day use and builds upon Mountune's extensive knowledge of Ford engines and motorsport experience. This unit is designed to reliably handle up to 550 hp with appropriate supporting modifications. Each short block begins with a new aluminum Ford Focus RS open deck engine block, with an optional Closed Deck strengthening for enhanced durability. It is then meticulously assembled using high-strength components including Mountune forged pistons, forged connecting rods, tri-metal racing bearings, and a balanced forged crankshaft. A baffled oil control system is also highly recommended for optimal performance and reliability. Key specifications include a 2.3L base engine, a bore x stroke of 87.5 mm x 94 mm, and a 9.5:1 compression ratio. This engine is intended for typical track day use. Mountune also offers installation guides and a recommended break-in procedure. Mountune provides a limited 1-Year/12,000-Mile warranty covering defects in workmanship or materials. Please note that due to high demand and supply chain delays, custom-built engines have extended lead times, estimated at 12-16 weeks, though these are not guaranteed.
