Overview

It deletes the bypass valve, ensuring 100% of the oil is filtered and limiting collateral damage from debris. This adapter replaces Porsche part numbers 996 107 020 53 (54, 55) and 996-107-225-53. It fits 986/987 and 996/997 models, as well as 2003-2006 Porsche Cayenne V8 models.
Show original supplier description
The LN Engineering Spin-On Oil Filter Adapter enhances engine longevity by providing full-flow filtration, meaning 100% of the oil is filtered and contaminants are trapped. This design limits collateral damage from foreign object debris that could otherwise re-contaminate the engine. By employing a steel-bodied spin-on conventional oil filter, the adapter also allows for the use of a Filtermag to further reduce engine wear associated with iron contaminants. Installation requires lubricating both o-rings with clean engine oil. Do not pre-fill the oil filter. Screw the adapter onto the engine by hand until fully engaged to the block, then torque to 25 Nm (18 Ft/Lbs) using a 26mm socket. Oil the filter gasket and install the filter by hand until snug, then turn an additional 3/4 to 1 turn, or follow the filter manufacturer's specifications. For street use, oil change intervals should not exceed 6 months or 5,000 miles with 0w40 or 5w40 viscosity motor oil (Driven DT40 recommended). Higher viscosity is not recommended. The adapter is designed to use filters from a 1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette, such as the Napa Gold 1042 or Wix 51042, for their adequate size and high burst strength. For track use, a Billet High Performance Oil Filter and race oil like Driven XP9 are required, with oil changes every 500 miles or less. This adapter fits 986/987, 996/997 models, and 2003-2006 Porsche Cayenne V8 models, replacing Porsche part numbers 996 107 020 53 (54, 55) and 996-107-225-53. However, it does not fit GT3, Turbo, and GT2 Porsche 911 models. For 987.2 MY09+ Boxster and Cayman models, part number 106-01.3 should be used. For 718 4-cyl Boxster and Cayman models, part number 106-01.5 is required. LN Engineering recommends Napa Gold filters made by Mann-Hummel (Wix) in Mexico or the USA; other Napa filters are not recommended. It is important to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle type, model, and engine before ordering.
