The Exedy Stage 1 Organic Plus clutch kit (part number HK05H1890FW) is engineered for performance enthusiasts with lightly modified vehicles. This Stage 1 Organic Plus kit is designed to provide a noticeable upgrade in torque capacity and clamping force while maintaining a familiar pedal feel akin to the original equipment clutch. This kit incorporates Exedy's industry-leading performance friction materials. The clutch disc utilizes an ultra-fibre facing, offering superior heat resistance and high burst strength, which is crucial for demanding applications like road use, circuit racing, and drifting. Unlike some performance clutches that can cause RPM lock-out or synchro damage due to steel backings, this design avoids such issues. The clutch cover is constructed from ductile material, ensuring robust performance and reliable clamping load across various temperature conditions. This combination translates to up to a 30% increase in torque capacity and approximately 40% higher clamp load compared to a standard clutch. Key specifications include a 215mm disc diameter, a push-type clutch engagement, and a sprung center disk for smoother engagement. The kit includes a new Exedy flywheel. The torque capacity is rated at 220 lb.ft. / 300 Nm at the flywheel and 180 lb.ft. / 240 Nm at the wheels. This clutch is specifically designed for vehicles equipped with the K20A engine code, making it a direct fit for models like the Honda Civic FD2.
