The XAIR Performance Over The Radiator (OTR) Cold Air Intake is specifically engineered for VT-VZ V8 Commodore and Pontiac GTO vehicles. Key to its performance is the market's largest air filter panel, measuring 460mm x 180mm. This substantial filter area from Green Filter, known for its high flow and filtration capabilities, reduces restriction and service intervals. The intake is available in three finishes: Plastic (for a factory look), Black Gelcoat (high gloss), and Carbon Fiber (offering superior heat transfer properties and aesthetics). Installation is described as a straightforward bolt-on process, typically completed in under an hour with provided instructions. Notably, the XAIR OTRCAI allows for the factory Air Flow Meter (MAF) to remain in place, enabling instant power gains and fuel savings without the need for a mafless tune on most applications. Options for MAF or mafless attachment hoses are available. Specific fitment notes indicate that VT & VX models may require the AC condenser to be repositioned. Extensive product testing on a 2004 VY SS demonstrated significant gains. Before installation, the car produced 199.2kW and 356Nm at the wheels. After installing the OTRCAI with the MAF intact, it reached 220.9kW and 397Nm, representing an 11% increase in power and torque, along with a 2.2 L/100km fuel economy improvement. Further gains are achievable with a custom dyno tune.
