Description

Bosch Oxygen Sensor; Rear. Oxygen (O2) sensors are emissions control sensors that detect levels of oxygen in an engine's exhaust. They send electrical signals to the engine's computer, which are converted to oxygen level readings. Some sensors include a heating element to accelerate the sensing process. O2 sensors are a common failure point in BMW emissions systems, leading to incorrect readings, decreased fuel economy, and potentially triggering a check engine light for catalytic converter issues. Bosch is a major OEM and aftermarket supplier of automotive components.
