The J&L Oil Separator Co. 3017P-B is a 3.0 passenger side oil separator specifically designed for the 2005-2010 Ford Mustang 4.0L V6. This upgraded design holds 3 oz of fluid, significantly more than previous versions, to effectively capture oil vapors from the crankcase. Constructed from solid, thick billet aluminum, this oil separator features a multi-stage filtration system. It utilizes a fine mesh stainless steel screen to trap oil vapors, which then grow larger and fall through an aluminum honeycomb filter before reaching the removable 3 oz tank. This process ensures only clean air is returned to the intake manifold, preventing oil from diluting fuel and lowering octane. Installation instructions and videos are provided to facilitate a straightforward process. The knurled tank base allows for easy removal and draining, and an O-ring seal prevents leaks. J&L emphasizes their kits maintain the OEM look and quality, with no hoses running all over the engine compartment. *Important Note:* This product is NOT CARB (California Air Resource Board) Exempt. It is not for legal sale or use in the state of California or any other states adopting CA emission standards that require a CA Executive Order (EO) number.
