PC680 Small Battery Kit

The STM PC680 Small Battery Kit is specifically engineered for the 2008-2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. This kit enables the use of a smaller, lighter battery, resulting in a weight savings of 15 pounds and a lower center of gravity. The design ensures a clean fit behind the factory trunk panels, utilizing the stock mounting location for a straightforward installation. The kit is available with or without the Odyssey PC680 battery; battery purchases include a new set of terminals. It's important to note that batteries cannot be shipped outside the continental USA. Installation requires careful attention to torque specifications. Small batteries can fail if posts are not torqued to 50 inch pounds, as additional torque can cause damage. The longer "L" tie-down is used in the rear base of the battery tray, and the battery should be laid flat with terminals on the highest side. It will not support aftermarket stereos and is not ideal in cold temperatures. The Odyssey PC680 battery is not strictly intended for automotive use, but is commonly utilized by the racing community. STM offers a Lifetime Guarantee on the Battery Tie-Down itself, but does not warranty the batteries, as they are used in ways not intended by the manufacturer. Battery life can vary significantly, from 1 to 10 years, and should be treated as a maintenance item. For typical street cars (300-600 HP), it can sit for a week and function for weekend racing or daily driving in temperatures between 40-90°F. Extended storage (over 2 weeks) or freezing temperatures necessitate using a battery charger.
