The STM PC680 Small Battery Kit is a battery tie-down system designed for the Evo X. It allows for the installation of a smaller, lighter battery, saving weight and lowering the vehicle's center of gravity. This kit fits behind factory trunk panels in the stock location.

The STM Evo X 680 small battery kit is engineered to facilitate the installation of a compact, lightweight battery, contributing to a reduction in overall vehicle weight and an improved center of gravity. The kit is available either with an Odyssey PC680 battery and terminals or as a tie-down only option. Installation is described as quick and easy, with new tie-down hardware included. It is crucial to torque the battery posts to 50 inch pounds, as over-torquing can damage the battery. This battery kit is specifically recommended for racing applications and is not intended for average daily drivers. It will not support aftermarket stereo systems and is not ideal for cold temperatures. The batteries used in this kit are not manufactured for automotive use, and while widely adopted by the racing community, STM does not warranty the batteries themselves. The typical lifespan of these batteries can range from one to ten years, and they should be treated as a maintenance item. For optimal performance, especially in a 300-600 HP street car, the battery is suitable for sitting for a week and being driven or raced on weekends, or for daily driving in temperatures between 40-90°F. If the vehicle sits for more than two weeks or is exposed to freezing temperatures, using a battery charger is recommended. While a functioning alternator will charge the battery, it may only provide 10-15 starting attempts under ignition issues before fading if fully charged.
