PEA Fuel System Cleaner

The CRC GDI IVD Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner is an aerosol formulated to tackle carbon and varnish buildup on intake valves and turbos, particularly in Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines. In GDI systems, fuel is injected directly into the cylinder, bypassing the intake valves and leading to deposit accumulation. This product uses a high concentration of PolyEther Amine (PEA) detergency to effectively remove these hardened deposits, which can cause performance issues such as power loss, poor acceleration, rough idle, reduced fuel economy, and increased emissions. The cleaner works by lifting carbon deposits and burning or flushing them out through the exhaust system. The application process involves warming the engine, spraying the product through the throttle body or downstream of the MAF sensor with the engine running at approximately 2,000 RPM, and then driving the vehicle at highway speeds for at least 10 minutes. This method is crucial for GDI engines as in-tank fuel additives do not reach the intake valves. CRC GDI IVD® Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner is safe for use on turbo, super-charged, and twin-turbo systems, as well as Port Fuel Injection (PFI) engines. It is also stated to be safe for oxygen sensors and catalytic converters. A recommended treatment interval is every 10,000 miles or at every oil change to maintain peak engine performance and prevent future deposit buildup. The product has a flash point of 156.2°F (69°C) and is classified as extremely flammable.
