The Honed Development HDP3-02 is a brake booster delete kit, also known as a manual brake conversion kit, engineered to enhance braking performance for specific Honda models. It offers benefits such as reduced compliance between the pedal and master cylinder for a firm pedal feel, improved braking control with no lag between pedal force and brake line pressure, and easier modulation of brake force due to reduced sensitivity. Additionally, it contributes to weight reduction by removing the brake booster. The kit includes essential components for the conversion: a firewall adapter compatible with Honda EK master cylinders (featuring a horizontal mounting pattern and studs), a custom pushrod, a pedal drilling template for precise adjustments, a block-off cap for the intake manifold vacuum port, and comprehensive installation instructions. The design incorporates a 6:1 pedal ratio, achieved through an offset master cylinder mounting location and a new mounting hole in the brake pedal for the pushrod clevis, to mitigate the typically higher pedal effort of manual brake setups. The kit mounts using studs, mirroring the original Honda booster installation. Installation requires a specific master cylinder size: a 7/8″ master cylinder is recommended for vehicles with 282mm or larger front brakes (or aftermarket calipers like Spoon, Willwood), while a 13/16″ master cylinder is advised for vehicles with 262mm or smaller factory front brakes. The size is typically marked on the master cylinder itself. The kit is compatible with the OEM proportioning valve, and factory hard lines can often be reused. However, if an aftermarket proportioning valve is used, new lines may need to be fabricated. The kit is suitable for the 1992-1995 Honda Civic (EG), 1996-2001 Honda Civic (EK), 1990-1993 Honda Integra (DA9), and 1994-2001 Honda Integra (DC2).
