This intake features a wire-reinforced lower induction hose that prevents collapse under suction and boost. It functions with the stock intake duct to supply cold air to the high-flow, cleanable Mishimoto oiled air filter.

The Mishimoto Performance Air Intake is a direct-fit upgrade designed for the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX. It is engineered with innovative components, including a wire-reinforced silicone hose that will not collapse under suction and boost, ensuring consistent airflow. This intake system utilizes the stock ducting to deliver cool air to a high-flow, oiled air filter that offers increased filtration surface area and can be cleaned for a lifetime of service. Dyno testing has shown impressive gains, with maximum improvements of up to 33 whp and 30 wtq, and peak gains of up to 28 whp and 21 wtq while maintaining safe AFRs. For even greater performance, with a tune and using 93 octane fuel, dyno results indicate gains of up to 70 whp and 70 wtq on 6-speed WRX models. The intake produces an aggressive tone under acceleration and boost, amplifying turbocharger spool and BPV sounds. An optional enclosed airbox is available for protection against engine bay heat-soak, while maintaining a stock-like appearance. The intake is made in the USA, with the filter also manufactured in the USA. It is available in polished, wrinkle black, or wrinkle red aluminum piping finishes and includes Mishimoto's Lifetime Warranty. While the system is advertised as potentially not requiring a tune, some sources suggest that for optimal performance and safety, especially when seeking maximum gains, a tune might be advisable or necessary.
