The K&N Performance Air Intake system is engineered to replace the restrictive factory intake on 2006-2011 Hyundai Accents equipped with the 1.6L Alpha II G4ED engine. The stock intake, with its corrugated tubing and resonator boxes, often creates turbulence and chokes airflow, leading to sluggish throttle response and a feeling of underpower, particularly at lower RPMs. This system addresses that by replacing the stock plastic components with a smooth, mandrel-bent aluminum tube. Mandrel bending ensures a consistent internal diameter, promoting smoother airflow and preventing velocity loss. By improving volumetric efficiency and increasing the amount of oxygen entering the combustion chamber, this intake can lead to a sharper throttle response and enhanced torque delivery. The high-flow cotton media filter is washable and reusable, eliminating the need for frequent paper filter replacements. Additionally, the blue-anodized aluminum piping helps dissipate heat more effectively than stock plastic. The system also removes factory sound-baffling resonators, providing a deeper, more aggressive induction sound during acceleration while remaining subdued at cruising speeds. For optimal results, it is recommended to disconnect the vehicle's battery for 15 minutes after installation to allow the ECU to reset its fuel trim maps and adapt to the increased airflow.
