Performance Camshafts with Valve Springs and Retainers

The BBR High Performance SkyActiv Camshaft Set offers a significant upgrade for Mazda SkyActiv engines, specifically designed for the Mazda MX-5 ND 2.0 and Mazda3 2.0. Developed exclusively by BBR and manufactured by a top European high-performance valvetrain specialist, these camshaft profiles are the same as those used in BBR's acclaimed 'Super 200' MX-5 ND upgrade. Constructed from steel billet, this camshaft package includes both inlet and exhaust replacement camshafts, along with custom-manufactured conical valve springs. These springs eliminate the need for separate retainers, simplifying installation. Diligent testing by BBR has resulted in profiles that deliver substantial performance gains, particularly noticeable from 3000 rpm upwards. With a suitable ECU remap and no other modifications, BBR has achieved up to 195BHP on the MX-5 ND. The maximum valve lift specifications are 10.75mm for the inlet and 9.75mm for the exhaust. The design allows for the full range of mechanical variable valve timing (VVT) to be utilized while maintaining a safe valve-to-piston clearance of 1.5mm, compared to the standard 1.6mm.
