Overview

The Shark Racing Performance Downpipe is a bolt-on unit designed for the 2021+ Elantra N with a 2.0 turbo engine. It aims to increase power, enhance sound, and reduce turbo lag.

Constructed from premium 304 stainless steel and handmade in Korea, the Maintec V2 downpipe is designed as a direct, bolt-on replacement for the factory component. The installation process involves bolting it directly onto the turbocharger. Performance gains are estimated at 10-20 horsepower from this modification alone. Buyers have several configuration options to consider. The downpipe is available either without a catalytic converter (decatted) or with an integrated Shark Racing 200-cell race catalytic converter. Additionally, customers can choose from three outlet pipe sizes: 2.5 inch, 2.75 inch, or 3.0 inch. An optional lower flex pipe is also available for all sizes. Installation hardware, including gaskets, studs, and nuts, can be added as a preventative measure due to the potential for factory studs to break during removal. It is important to note that installing a catted downpipe may trigger a Check Engine Light (CEL), while a decatted version will definitely trigger a CEL. A tune is required to eliminate the CEL. Customers should verify that their vehicle's downpipe flange matches the 4-bolt design shown in the product images before purchase.
