The Supertech Performance VWEVI-1044SL-6 exhaust valves are engineered for high-performance engines, offering superior strength and durability. Constructed from a single piece of forged stainless steel, these valves are subjected to a specialized heat treatment process to achieve optimal hardness for demanding engine conditions. This results in a robust valve that can withstand the stresses of high RPM operation. These Inconel exhaust valves feature a black nitride finish on the entire valve. This surface treatment provides a microhardness of 800HV minimum, which is harder than the base stainless steel while maintaining good ductility. The smoother surface finish compared to chromed stems reduces friction between the valve stem and guide, leading to less internal engine friction and power loss at higher engine speeds. The nitrided layer is deeply adhered to the base material, preventing flaking or breakage even during impacts with pistons. Furthermore, the hardened nitrided layer makes the valve seat surface more durable and resistant to wear, ensuring longevity even when using lead-free fuels, alcohols, nitro, or other aggressive fuel mixes. These valves are compatible with various seat materials, including nodular iron, steel powder metal, hard aluminum-copper, and beryllium copper seats.
