The Mishimoto intercooler is engineered as a direct fit for the 2016-2018 Ford Focus RS, designed to enhance cooling efficiency for both track use and spirited driving. This upgrade significantly increases the intercooler's capacity with an 80-percent larger core size and a 36-percent boost in internal core volume. The external fin surface area is expanded by 214 percent, maximizing heat dissipation. This intercooler effectively reduces air outlet temperatures by nearly 40% while minimizing pressure drop across the core. Specific improvements include a 46-percent pressure drop reduction on the cold-side and 45-percent on the hot-side. Internal volume increases are also substantial, with a 31-percent gain on the cold-side and 40-percent on the hot-side. The robust bar-and-plate core construction is built for durability, capable of withstanding demanding conditions and improving heat transfer during both idle and cruising.
