The Racingline VWR141002 Performance Intercooler is engineered to address heat soak issues in the 2.0 TSI EA113 and EA888.1 engines, ensuring more consistent power delivery, especially in tuned vehicles or during demanding driving conditions. Its primary function is to cool the compressed air from the turbocharger before it enters the engine. Cooler, denser air means more oxygen for combustion, leading to more reliable power. This intercooler features a substantial 65mm deep bar and plate core, offering significantly increased air volume compared to the OEM unit. The inlet and outlet diameters are enlarged to 70mm (from the factory 60mm), which aids in improved airflow and quicker boost response. The kit comes complete with matching enlarged silicone boost hoses and an aluminum adaptor for a seamless installation. This upgrade is beneficial for maintaining consistent power on standard, Stage 1, and Stage 2 tuned cars by reducing the ECU's tendency to pull timing due to high intake air temperatures (IAT). The VWR141002 is compatible with popular VW and Audi PQ35 platform models equipped with the 2.0 TSI EA113 or 2.0 TSI EA888.1 engines. Specific fitment includes various Golf GTI, Golf R, Scirocco R, Audi S3, and Audi TT variants produced between 2005 and 2014.
