The Mishimoto 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R Performance Intercooler Kit is engineered to address the limitations of the stock intercooling system, which can experience heat soak under intense driving conditions. This upgrade aims to restore and enhance the performance of your Type R by keeping charged air cool. The kit features a significantly larger 4.7-inch thick bar-and-plate intercooler core, boasting a 169% increase in overall volume and a 189% boost in external fin surface area compared to the stock unit. This design optimizes heat rejection and ensures efficient cooling with minimal pressure drop. The plastic end tanks have been replaced with sleek cast aluminum designs for better airflow management. Complementing the upgraded intercooler core, the piping system has also been overhauled. The restrictive stock piping diameters have been replaced with a 2.5-inch mandrel-bent aluminum cold-side pipe and a 5-layer heat-resistant silicone hot-side pipe. These improvements enhance airflow, increase durability, and prevent potential boost leaks. This intercooler kit offers direct fitment for the 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R with the K20C1 engine code (FK8 chassis). It is available with either a silver or black intercooler, and options for wrinkle black or wrinkle red piping to match your aesthetic preferences. The kit includes all necessary mounting hardware, a CARB EO sticker, and is backed by Mishimoto's Lifetime Warranty.
