The kit also incorporates mandrel-bent aluminum piping with 5-layer silicone couplers, increasing air channels to 2.75 inches for a 30% flow improvement.

The Mishimoto Performance Intercooler Kit is engineered as a direct-fit upgrade for the 2015+ Volkswagen Golf TSI, GTI, R, and Audi A3/S3 models. It replaces the stock tube-and-fin intercooler, which is often overwhelmed due to its placement between the radiator and AC condenser. Engineered for enhanced performance, this intercooler boasts an 89% increase in core volume and a 162% boost in external fin surface area over the factory component. The cast aluminum end tanks are integrated with internal diverters to maximize airflow across the entire core. The kit includes performance intercooler piping, replacing stock plastic and rubber with 2.75-inch mandrel-bent aluminum pipes and 5-layer silicone couplers, resulting in a 30% increase in flow capacity. When installed, this intercooler system yielded maximum power gains of 14.5 whp and 13 wtq on stock tuning, while also dropping intercooler outlet temperatures by 23°F. The kit comes complete with CNC-machined adjustable aluminum mounting brackets for precise installation. Mishimoto backs this intercooler kit with their Lifetime Warranty.
