The CorkSport Short Shifter is engineered to enhance the driving experience for the 2016+ Mazda MX-5 Miata. This performance upgrade directly addresses the intimate connection enthusiasts have with their vehicle's controls, aiming to provide more precise and responsive gear changes. Key to its performance is a 14% reduction in shift throw, which aims to improve both the speed and feedback during gear shifts. Additionally, the shifter features an adjustable pre-load mechanism. Unlike the OEM setup, which uses sprung cups, the CorkSport design replaces the upper sprung cup with a solid component and includes shims to precisely set the shifter's pre-load. This allows for a customizable range of resistance, from low to high, tailored to individual driver preference. Crafted from aluminum, this short shifter is CAD-designed and precision CNC machined to ensure a perfect fit within the 2016+ Mazda MX-5 Miata. The product comes with all necessary hardware for installation, and CorkSport provides a 2-year limited warranty.
