The Arashi F56CAC-SP014B is an IHI Performance VF48 turbocharger, engineered as an OEM+ upgrade for Subaru's 2.5L EJ25 engine. Manufactured by IHI, Subaru's factory turbo partner, this unit utilizes an advanced compressor wheel design to move more air, offering an OEM+ solution for drivers seeking to enhance their Subaru's performance. The turbocharger features a precisely machined aluminum forged big compressor wheel with a 62mm exducer and a 48.32mm inducer, designed for quicker spool. The turbine side includes a P18 housing with a 53mm inducer and 48mm exducer. It maintains OEM inlet and outlet connections compatible with the 04+ STI. Installation is straightforward as the turbo bolts directly to the EJ25's stock components and fittings. However, several technical considerations are noted: a boost controller or solenoid is required and sold separately to manage boost pressure. The use of a precise boost gauge is recommended when adjusting the actuator rod's turnbuckle. Additionally, premium pump gas or E85 fuel must be used once this turbo is installed and tuned. Subaru strongly recommends purchasing a new Banjo Bolt and Screen (SUB 14445AA090) with any new turbo installation. This turbocharger is compatible with GD & GR WRX, STI, Legacy GT, and Forester models. While designed for the EJ25, it may fit other Subaru models and years with potential additional modifications.
