The Edelbrock 1406 Performer carburetor is a 600 cfm, 4-barrel carburetor designed for gasoline engines. It features an electric choke and a square bore flange for intake manifold compatibility.

The Edelbrock Performer Series 1406 is a precisely tuned, quality-built 4-barrel carburetor designed to handle daily driving while delivering consistent street performance. This 600 CFM carburetor features an electric choke and mechanical secondaries, built with a lightweight, all-aluminum, two-piece body that resists warping and is compatible with gasohol and blended fuels. Key features of the 1406 include the use of metering rods for smooth transitions between circuits, eliminating the risk of power valves blowing out. Its simple tub-type bowls and rear-pivot floats contribute to a reliable, user-friendly, and easily tunable operation for miles of trouble-free use. This model is calibrated for fuel economy and includes both timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. The Edelbrock 1406 is specifically designed for small-block and small displacement big-block engines, recommended for stock to Performer level applications. It should be matched with an Edelbrock Performer or Performer EPS manifold, or similar designs from other brands. It is not recommended for use on RPM or Torker II intake manifolds. The carburetor comes with primary jets (.098), secondary jets (.095), metering rods (.075 x .047), and a yellow step-up spring (4 Hg). A new fuel filter between the fuel pump and carburetor is required to maintain the manufacturer's warranty.
