The Tesa 51608 PET Fleece Wire Harness Tape is a universal solution for bundling automotive wiring harnesses, specifically within the passenger compartment. It can be hand-torn, allowing for tool-free application, and unwinds smoothly with a stable unwind force. The tape conforms tightly to bends and connectors, ensuring neat and secure bundling. It is also age-resistant, tear-resistant, and offers strong adhesion. Key technical specifications include a PET fleece carrier/backing and a rubber-based adhesive. The tape has a thickness of 11 mils (carrier and adhesive combined), an elongation of 20%, and a tensile strength of 56.7 pounds per inch longitudinally. It is rated for a service operating temperature range of -40°F to 221°F. The tape demonstrates Class C noise damping and Class A abrasion resistance (with a 5mm mandrel) and Class B (with a 10mm mandrel) per LV312 standards. Adhesion to steel is rated at 1.71 lbs/in. Application involves grouping wires, starting the tape at one end, and wrapping it around the bundle with slight tension, overlapping each pass by approximately half the tape width. The end is then hand-torn and pressed down firmly. Standard widths include 9, 19, 25, and 32 mm, with standard lengths of 25 meters.
