PEX Air Intake System

It aims to enhance performance and auditory experience by increasing airflow to the B58 engine. The intake boasts a larger volume airbox, which is 60% larger than stock, and a custom free-flowing filter with a 40% increase in surface area (from 82 sq in to 115 sq in). This design allows the system to outflow the factory intake by 58% or more, optimizing flow for additional top-end power and improved throttle response. Dinan has incorporated secondary air inlets into the PEX intake. These inlets were developed through extensive testing to provide the necessary air volume for the enlarged airbox and filter without introducing detrimental effects like increased intake air temperatures, a common issue with open-air systems. The patterned openings on the opposite side from the engine strike a balance, assisting the factory inlet without compromising temperature efficiency, even under demanding driving conditions. The performance benefits include maximum gains of +9 WHP and +8 ft-lbs of torque on a stock vehicle. The secondary inlets also contribute to a more pronounced and sporty intake sound, allowing the turbo spool and blow-off valve to be more audible. Constructed with high heat deflection PEX material, the intake offers an OEM look that blends seamlessly with existing under-hood components, providing an economical solution for enhanced form and function. This product is compatible with all G2x Mx40i models, with or without factory bracing.
