The Michelin Pilot Power 2CT is a high-performance rear motorcycle tire engineered for sportbike enthusiasts who demand versatility, capable of handling both street riding and track day sessions. This tire incorporates advanced two-compound technology (2CT), a development originating from MotoGP racing. The tread surface is strategically divided into three distinct zones, utilizing two different rubber compounds to optimize performance across various conditions. The unique construction of the Pilot Power 2CT features a more durable rubber compound in the center tread for longevity and stability, while the edges of the tread are formulated with a 20% softer rubber mix. This compound choice yields exceptional cornering grip and allows for unprecedented lean angles, with tests showing up to 51.2 degrees in dry conditions. Riders can expect precise handling, excellent feedback from the road surface, and progressive acceleration and braking, even on wet surfaces. Designed as a track-day tire that excels on the street, the Pilot Power 2CT is a tubeless, radial tire with a blackwall finish. It is (W)-rated, indicating suitability for speeds of 168 mph and above. The tire's size is 180/55ZR17 with a load index of 73W, and it is E-Marked. When installing a new tire, it is recommended to change the valve stem, tube, and/or rim strip. Many retailers also offer tire mounting and balancing services.
