VETUS Planus yacht hatches feature satin sheen anodized aluminum frames with a 75 mm corner radius and a 10 mm thick "dark smoke" colored acrylic lid. A unique friction hinge allows the hatch to remain open at any angle up to 180 degrees. These hatches are CE classified: A II, indicating they are designed for ocean use and can be deck-mounted. Optional anodized aluminum counter flanges and mosquito screens are available. The hatch can be opened from both inside and outside, can be completely watertight, or secured with a small air gap for continuous ventilation. An internal locking mechanism ensures security when the boat is unattended. Its low external profile is designed to prevent ropes from snagging on the handles.
