The 1996-2002 Toyota 4Runner Plate Front Bumper DIY Kit from True North Fabrication is engineered for off-road enthusiasts seeking robust styling and durability. Built entirely from heavy-duty steel, its fully enclosed outer shell provides maximum resilience. This DIY kit simplifies assembly with laser-cut, press-bent pieces featuring slotted and tabbed edges, drastically reducing welding time and ensuring perfect alignment. The bumper can even be tacked together without mounting it first. The construction utilizes a variety of steel gauges for optimal strength: 7 gauge HRPO steel for the frame mounting plate, winch plate, and skid supports; 3/8” thick steel for the inner main vertical plates and underwing supports; and 1/2" steel for the shackle mounts. All other sheet metal parts are 11 gauge HRPO steel, and all tubing is 1.75 OD 11 gauge ERW steel. The kit is laser-scanned for precision fitment, achieving accuracy within 0.005 inches. It is designed to accommodate a Warn M8000 winch with a 10" x 4.5" mounting pattern, though other similarly sized winches may fit with potential control box relocation. Oversized mounting points and included hardware allow for adjustability to accommodate frame variations. It is crucial to note that this product is a DIY (Do It Yourself) bumper, supplied as individual pieces requiring the customer to weld and assemble. Minor surface imperfections like rust spots or scratches may be present due to manufacturing and shipping. Any grille guard tubing included will not be pre-coped and will be slightly oversized. To achieve the tightest fitment and strongest mounting, a 2-inch trim from the front of the vehicle’s frame rails is necessary, which does not compromise frame integrity; the trimmed area should be cleaned and coated with spray paint to prevent rust.
