The Manley Platinum Series engine piston kit is engineered for the 2002-2005 Subaru WRX equipped with the EJ205 engine. This comprehensive kit includes a full set of four pistons, each featuring a 92.5mm bore size with a +0.50mm oversize, and an extreme .210" wall pin. Constructed from high-strength 2618 alloy forgings, these pistons are built for durability and performance. They feature a dish-type design with a -12cc dome volume, which, when paired with a 48cc cylinder head, results in a compression ratio of 8.5:1. The piston specifications also include a rod length of 5.137", a standard 75mm stroke for the 2.0L engine, and a compression distance of 1.285". Manley's Platinum Series pistons are known for their advanced features, including moly-coated skirts, lightweight designs with offset wrist pins for quieter operation, and pressure balance grooves. They are designed to accommodate +1mm valve sizes and come with premium steel top rings and Napier second rings. The kit includes all necessary components such as piston ring sets, wrist pins, and round wire locks. Recommended piston clearance for boosted applications ranges from .003" for mild boost to .0035" for high boost.
