The Manley Platinum Series Piston Set is engineered for Ford 4.6L and 5.4L 3-valve Modular V8 engines, offering a direct upgrade for performance enthusiasts. These pistons are forged from domestic 2618 alloy, chosen for its superior strength and performance characteristics. The set includes premium 4130 chrome moly wrist pins, ensuring durability, with options for upgrades to 9310 and Turbo Tuff/DLC alloys for even greater resilience. Precision is paramount with these pistons. Manley adheres to strict standards for ring lands and grooves, which leads to enhanced ring seal and ultimately, more power. The pistons feature carefully designed cam and barrel (skirt) profiles that generate substantial power while minimizing wear on cylinder walls. Manley's unique fixturing process allows for skirt turning and ring groove machining in a single operation, guaranteeing ultimate ring groove to skirt squareness.
