PLM Heat Exchanger XL

The PLM Heat Exchanger XL is a direct-fit upgrade for the Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG 2003-2008 equipped with the 5.5L engine. This "XL" version is 25% larger than the standard model, designed to effectively manage the high temperatures produced by the supercharged AMG engine. This heat exchanger utilizes non-epoxied furnace-brazed cores for superior heat dissipation and features CNC-welded aluminum necks for enhanced durability and quality. It boasts a fluid capacity of 2.25 liters and an extensive 4000 square inches of fin area, engineered to combat heat soak and maintain optimal intake charge temperatures. For those removing the bumper during installation, a complete cooling package including a Johnson pump and Redline water wetter is available as an optional upgrade. Specific fitment notes indicate that while the side brackets are designed to bolt onto the E55, CLS55, and SL55 models will require two new holes to be drilled into the provided brackets. For SL55 models, a longer hose may be necessary due to the driver-side hose connection; this longer hose can be provided at no extra cost if specified when ordering.
