Plug-and-Play ECU

The Stinger Performance PiMPx is a standalone engine management unit based on the MegaSquirt 3 firmware, designed for Ford EEC-IV (OBD-1) vehicles from approximately 1983-1995. This unit is a direct plug-and-play replacement for the factory ECU, fitting into the stock location and utilizing the existing harness. It simplifies installations by allowing the removal of restrictive factory components such as the VAM (on 2.3T engines) or MAF (on V8s), enabling direct filter attachment to the intake or turbo. The PiMPx offers advanced tuning capabilities, including Tune Analyze Live, which can auto-tune the fuel table within minutes by simply driving the vehicle. It comes with base tunes that are dyno-proven for safe initial startup and tuning. The system supports various Ford ignition systems, including TFI, DIS, EDIS, and MSD-style CDI boxes, with the option to upgrade to modern coil-near-plug or individual coil systems via an internal expansion port. It can fire both low and high impedance injectors and supports sequential fuel for 4-cylinder applications. Key features include an onboard 4-bar MAP and Baro sensor, multiple analog and digital inputs/outputs, support for VR, Hall effect, and optical crank/cam sensors, and onboard datalogging via an SD card. The unit is configurable via user-positionable jumpers, allowing for easy changes to ignition type, injector impedance, or application swaps without soldering. It is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems.
