Plug-and-Play Engine Management System for Ford 4.6L SOHC

The MegaSquirt MSPNPPro-EECV-8DM is a sophisticated, plug-and-play engine management system engineered to directly replace the stock ECU in 1999-2004 Ford Mustang SOHC V8 models with manual transmissions. This unit offers comprehensive engine control, allowing for precise tuning of fuel and spark. Installation involves several key steps, including disconnecting the battery, removing interior panels to access the OEM ECU, and physically swapping the units. A crucial part of the setup is routing a vacuum hose for the MAP sensor, with two recommended installation options provided for passing the hose through the firewall. The MSPNP-Pro connects via a serial cable for tuning and data logging. Optional connections can be made to the rear options connector for expanded functionality. This system calculates engine load using a MAP sensor, meaning the original Mass Air Flow (MAF) meter is no longer required and can be removed for a performance increase, or at least unplugged. The unit also supports the addition of a wideband Oxygen sensor, which can be wired into either the original O2 sensor wiring or the EGO pin on the rear options connector. Calibration values for stock coolant and intake temperature sensors are provided in the documentation. Furthermore, the MSPNP Pro offers configurable auxiliary I/O points for functions such as cooling fan control, idle air control (IAC), and AC compressor clutch activation, as well as inputs for sensors like fuel pressure and output shaft speed. It is noted that this ECU is specifically designed for the Ford 4.6L SOHC V8 engine with a manual transmission. A 90-day limited warranty is included for refurbished units.
