The King Engine Bearings Main Bearing Set (MB7008XPC) is engineered to handle the increased power output of modern sport compact race engines. These bearings utilize advanced geometrical features and unique metal structures to provide higher performance benchmarks and improved durability. The XPC series is specifically developed to meet the challenges of today's high-horsepower applications. This set features King's proprietary pMaxKote, a nano-composite polymer coating applied over the pMaxBlack overlay. This coating significantly enhances wear resistance without altering the bearing's precision wall thickness. pMaxKote has proven effective in protecting bearings against metal-to-metal contact, the erosive effects of cavitation, and provides superior build protection with its ceramic nano-composite particles. The pMaxKote coating further enhances the benefits of King XP race bearings, offering superior seizure resistance, cavitation resistance, wear resistance, and protection against oil starvation. The intermediate layer of these bearings boasts a higher tin content and is 22% harder than conventional bearings, providing a load-carrying capacity of 17,000 psi. The pMax Black overlay is also significantly stronger than conventional overlays due to its 5% copper content and an innovative nano-scaled hardening process, achieving a maximum load capacity of up to 17,000 psi.
