The Integrated Engineering Polymer Air Intake System is engineered to deliver enhanced airflow and a more engaging driving experience for the Audi B9/B9.5 (80A) Q5 2.0T. Performance is at the core of this intake system. The system also transforms the auditory experience, replacing the muted factory airbox sounds with an addictive symphony of turbocharger spool, engine throttle, and diverter valve sounds, making the Q5 more exciting to drive. The unique one-piece airbox design ensures a seamless look and eliminates potential air leaks, installation headaches, or rubbing noises common in multi-piece designs. Key design features include a built-in velocity stack that smoothly transitions airflow from the massive 5-inch air filter down to the turbo inlet with high-inertia laminar properties, minimizing drag and turbulence. The intake leverages multiple pressure zones, utilizing a front air inlet for high-pressure ram air flow and louvers in the filter plate to draw additional air from a low-pressure zone under the intake. This dual-zone design ensures a continuous and ample air supply, preventing the intake from becoming a power limiter even in extreme builds. Integrated Engineering utilizes 3D scanning tools to create a precise digital duplicate of the vehicle's engine bay, grille, bumper, and hood, ensuring a perfect fit within all available space. Testing, including flow bench results, shows consistent gains of up to 134 CFM over stock, detailing the intake's efficiency. When combined with ECU engine tuning, this system can yield power gains of up to 10-20HP. Installation is designed to be quick and straightforward, typically taking 20-40 minutes with basic hand tools, utilizing factory-style mounts for a hassle-free fit.
