The Tomei Poncam camshaft is a high-performance upgrade specifically designed for the Nissan RB26DETT engine. This particular model, TA301C-NS05A, features a 254-degree intake duration and 9.15mm intake lift, balancing low to mid-range torque with optimal performance when used with stock or N1 turbos. The exhaust cam duration was intentionally reduced to ensure stable idling. This camshaft is part of Tomei's Poncam series, which are generally designed as drop-in components compatible with stock valve trains and ECUs. However, it's important to note that Tomei recommends checking for clearance modifications on the cylinder head due to the potentially higher cam lobe lift. The specific amount of modification required can vary by cylinder head. For optimal performance and reliability, it's advised that uprated valve springs are used with this camshaft, especially for higher performance applications. Additionally, Tomei products often carry a Prop 65 Hazardous Material Warning, indicating they may contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and/or reproductive harm.
