The PLM Power Driven Heat Exchanger XL is engineered to combat overheating issues in high-performance Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG (2003-2006) and CLS55 AMG (2006-2011) models, especially those with increased boost or horsepower. This "XL" version offers a 25% larger capacity than the standard model, featuring a 3-inch thick core, a substantial 4000 square inches of fin area, and a 2.25-liter fluid capacity. Constructed with non-epoxied, furnace-brazed cores for superior heat dissipation and precision-welded CNC billet aluminum necks, the PLM heat exchanger is built for performance and durability. Basic hand tools are sufficient for installation, making it an accessible upgrade for enthusiasts. Installation Notes: While the heat exchanger is designed to bolt directly onto the E55 AMG, CLS55 AMG and SL55 owners will need to create two new holes in the provided side brackets. For SL55 models, a longer hose may be required due to the driver-side hose connection; PLM offers this hose at no extra cost if the SL55 is selected during the order process. It is also recommended to consider installing a complete cooling package, including a Johnson pump and Redline water wetter, for optimal thermal management, available for an additional cost.
