The CSF 8041 high-performance power steering cooler is engineered to combat overheating issues common in E9X M3 models, especially under demanding street or track conditions. Overheated power steering fluid can lead to a noisy pump, sloppy steering response, and potential damage to system components. This cooler offers a solution by significantly improving efficiency and cooling capacity. Constructed with CSF's AC condenser technology, this cooler utilizes a 1-row, super-high pressure, 18mm wide, 4-channel microtube design. It transitions from the OEM's low-efficiency mechanically bonded core to a CAB-brazed, high-efficiency plate-type design. The dual-pass 6-row configuration results in an 83% increase in surface area compared to the stock cooler, and it has been lab-tested to be approximately 40% more efficient. Installation is straightforward, described as a "drop-in fit" that requires no modifications and accepts all attaching OEM components, including oil-line connections, mounting brackets, and the AC condenser. This makes it the world's first true plug-and-play power steering cooler for the E9X M3 platform. The cooler's increased height of 83mm (3.27 inches) is designed to clear aftermarket superchargers, heat exchangers, or auxiliary coolers that might be installed underneath the OEM-positioned cooler. This cooler is specifically designed for the BMW M3 models from 2008-2013. It is not compatible with non-M models, such as the 135i or 335i, without modification.
