The PHR PowerHouse Racing Billet Adjustable Locking Cam Gear is designed to offer maximum reliability for 1JZ and 2JZ engines, specifically engineered to eliminate the risk of gear slip. Each gear is CNC machined from 6061 billet aluminum with a hard-anodized black finish on the outer gear for durability. All included hardware is constructed from stainless steel to prevent rust and tarnishing. These gears are essential for dialing in camshaft lobe center-line and event timing, potentially unlocking additional horsepower by tailoring the engine's power curve. While the gear comes with a 0-degree position lock, an optional adjustment kit is available for those needing to fine-tune timing between 1 to 9 degrees positive or negative. VVT-i model engines require only one gear, as the intake gear must remain stock to keep the VVT-i system operable. For non-VVT-i engines, you may select either a single cam gear or two depending on your setup. Note that for 1JZ engines, it may be necessary to replace the back plate bolts with button head hardware to ensure proper clearance and prevent rubbing.
