The TransGo 5HP-24-PR is a pressure regulator valve repair kit designed to fix malfunctions in ZF5HP-24 automatic transmissions. This kit specifically targets issues causing harsh or banging shifts, kick-down bangs, and runaway pressure that can lead to drum breakage. Installation of this repair kit is straightforward, requiring no reaming or specialized tools, and can be performed without a complete disassembly of the valve body. The kit includes a new pressure regulator valve, spring, and special seals. While the installation is simple, care should be taken when disassembling the valve body, particularly when separating the separator plate from the upper channel plate, as it contains small, model-specific parts. This kit corrects and prevents common transmission problems such as runaway pressure, harsh shifts, and kick-down bangs. By addressing the worn bore or weak spring in the pressure regulator valve, it restores proper transmission operation.
