The Steeda Pro Active shocks and struts utilize patented frequency selective damping technology to address the specific performance needs of the S550 and S650 Mustang IRS chassis. By maintaining consistent tire contact, these dampers offer superior control on rough, corrugated surfaces, preventing the porpoising motion associated with factory components. They are co-developed with an OE manufacturer and feature a durable coating resistant to road salt and debris. During high-performance driving, these units provide targeted handling characteristics; rebound settings limit front-end rise during hard launches for quicker 0-60 times, while compression damping restricts front-end dive under heavy braking. The dampers are designed to work with both stock-height and lowered Mustangs, provided the lowering spring does not drop the vehicle more than 1 inch below stock ride height. Installation requires attention to these compatibility constraints to ensure proper operation. Note that these components are intended for S550 and S650 models.
