By providing a consistently maintained tension, the APE Pro Series unit eliminates these risks. Constructed from CNC-machined billet aluminum, this tensioner ensures durability and a perfect fit. It features a black anodized finish for corrosion resistance and aesthetics. The Pro Series model includes an easy-access socket head adjuster screw, ideal for tight engine spaces, and an internal o-ring design that prevents the o-ring from flattening over time, ensuring reliable adjustment. Installation of a manual cam chain tensioner requires specific knowledge and procedures. Incorrect installation can lead to severe engine damage. It is strongly advised that installation be performed by a qualified technician familiar with this process. Furthermore, when replacing a hydraulic OEM tensioner with a manual one, it is crucial to block off the oil passage that supplied the OEM tensioner. Failure to do so can result in low oil pressure, potentially damaging the engine. The tensioner comes with a gasket for proper sealing.
