This sophisticated, bolt-on brake upgrade builds upon the Procomp kit's foundation with larger calipers, rotors, and brake pads, a higher piston count, and standard full-floating rotors for enhanced self-centering within the caliper. These calipers are meticulously crafted from a solid billet of aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring lightweight construction, unparalleled strength, and resistance to corrosion. They also incorporate aluminum pistons, which offer superior heat resistance and maintain uncompromised operation under demanding conditions. Construction highlights include a lightweight, forged, one-piece caliper design from aerospace-quality aluminum, providing uniform thickness and robust strength. Carbon steel caliper brackets, precision CNC machined, facilitate direct bolt-on installation to OEM caliper bracket locations, accommodating the larger caliper size. The kit features a floating two-piece rotor design, where the outer section offers slight movement for better self-centering, reducing brake drag and improving performance through more even application. Standard SC5 Street Brake Pads are included, offering optimal braking performance for street and occasional track use, with significantly reduced dust and noise compared to race pads. D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines are also standard, preventing expansion under pressure for quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel. This kit utilizes 380mm (15-inch) diameter, 32mm wide, slotted, floating two-piece rotors. The calipers are an 8-piston type, designed for the front position. Standard kit components include two forged, monoblock aluminum calipers, two lightweight two-piece rotors (available in slotted or drilled), one set of SC5 Street Brake Pads, two stainless steel brake lines, and all necessary mounting components and hardware. The kit is specifically designed for the Volkswagen Passat 1998-2005 models equipped with 2-piece OE caliper setups.
