Pro Hemi Non-MDS Hydraulic Camshaft

The Summit Racing Pro Hemi Non-MDS Camshaft (SUM-5700) is engineered to completely remove the factory Multiple Displacement System (MDS) from your Gen. III Hemi engine. This upgrade is ideal for owners seeking more predictable performance or those building high-performance or race engines where MDS functionality is not desired. This specific camshaft, the SUM-5700, features a hydraulic design with an intake duration of 187 degrees and exhaust duration of 194 degrees at 0.050" lift. The valve lift measures 0.477" for the intake and 0.465" for the exhaust, with a lobe separation angle (LSA) of 112 degrees. It is designed as a direct replacement for OE camshafts with part numbers 53022064AA and 53021730BA. Installation of the SUM-5700 camshaft is the first step in eliminating the MDS system. It requires the use of non-MDS style engine lifters and the removal of MDS solenoids, which are replaced with block-off plugs. Additionally, a capable computer programmer or custom tune is necessary to disable the MDS system in the vehicle's ECU. This camshaft is compatible with 2003-2007 Dodge Ram 5.7L models that do not feature VVT or MDS. Note that if your engine is equipped with VVT, special attention must be paid to the wiring harness to avoid disabling VVT operation when removing MDS solenoids.
