The DeWitts Pro Series Direct Fit® radiator is engineered to replace the stock radiator in 1997-2004 C5 Corvettes equipped with a manual transmission, including Z06 models. Unlike the original GM design, which uses injection-molded plastic end tanks crimped to the core, DeWitts utilizes press-formed end tanks for superior durability and longevity. This construction method is crucial for withstanding the strains of powerful engine upgrades and hard driving that can lead to cracks and leaks in OEM units. This radiator boasts a two-row core with 1-inch wide serpentine cooling tubes, significantly increasing coolant capacity by one gallon and maximizing airflow contact for superior heat removal. The core dimensions are 24.75 inches wide, 17 inches high, and 2.25 inches thick. The overall dimensions are 31 inches wide, 17 inches high, and 3 inches thick. The inlet and outlet sizes are 1-1/4 inches. However, a note for 2001-2004 C5 models mentions that the larger diameter DeWitts radiator inlet may require modification to the original equipment hose clamp; using new clamps is suggested. For early 2001 Corvettes, care should be taken to check transmission oil cooler connections, as they used a standard flare type, while later models switched to a quick connect fitting. Optional accessories like a C5 Corvette Cooling Fan Upgrade (dual 12-inch fans, 3,280 CFM) and engine oil cooler kits are available.
