Pro Series Head Stud Kit

The ARP 234-4317 Pro Series head stud kit offers enhanced durability and performance for your LS engine. Manufactured from premium 8740 chromoly steel, these studs are heat-treated to a robust 200,000 psi tensile strength. A critical feature is the thread rolling process performed after heat treatment, which significantly boosts fatigue tolerance compared to studs threaded prior to heat application. This kit ensures a precise fit, with exact tolerances allowing gaskets and cylinder heads to glide into position and align perfectly. It comes complete with hardened, parallel ground washers for even load distribution and accurate torque readings, along with 12-point nuts. This design contributes to reliable clamping and long-term performance. The ARP 234-4317 is specifically engineered for mid-2004 and newer LS engines. GM utilized two different styles of LS head bolts during this transition period: 1997-2003 engines typically used a combination of 155mm, 100mm, and 45mm bolts, while 2004-2013 engines generally employed 100mm and 45mm bolts.
