The Auburn Gear Pro Series Rear Differential, model 542059, offers enhanced performance for classic Ford and Mercury vehicles equipped with Ford 8-inch rear axles and 28-spline axle shafts. This limited slip differential is engineered with an exclusive Cone-Clutch technology, known as Grip-N-Loc™, which actively biases torque to the wheel with the most traction. This results in lightning-fast reactions and superior torque transfer, especially when one wheel encounters low traction conditions. Crafted in the USA, this differential features a high bias cone clutch design, ensuring remarkable torque capacity and consistent preload. It is compatible with gear ratios of 3.00:1 and numerically higher. The unit requires Ford ring gear bolts from an open differential, as limited slip bolts are too long. The Auburn Gear Pro Series Rear Differential is designed for a wide range of Ford and Mercury models from 1962-1979. Specific fitments include models such as the Ford Mustang, Falcon, Fairlane, Torino, Pinto, and Maverick, as well as Mercury Comet, Capri, Cougar, Bobcat, and Zephyr, among others. It is backed by a 1-year warranty and a 4-year differential-replacement exchange program.
