The Tomei Procam camshaft set, part number TA301A-NS05L, is engineered for the Nissan RB26DETT engine, specifically for R32 and R33 GT-R models. This camshaft features a 262-degree duration and a 10.25mm lift, designed to optimize engine performance for high power setups. The advanced VALC (Velocity and Acceleration Control) profile allows valves to open more rapidly and remain open longer, significantly increasing the area under the lift curve. This results in greater air intake and, consequently, more power output. Conversely, the VALC profile ensures a slower valve closing rate, which helps to mitigate common valve train related issues and reduce stress on the system. This design addresses limitations found in conventional valve trains where maximum lift is often dictated by lifter size. The VALC profile expertly maximizes lobe travel on the lifter without exceeding its outer edge, preventing damage and wear. Compared to standard camshafts with similar lift, the VALC profile offers even greater performance gains by off-setting the controlled cam velocity.
