The Tomei ProCam Intake Camshaft, part number TA301C-NS05C, is engineered for high-performance applications, specifically for the Nissan Skyline GT-R RB26DETT engine from 1989-2002. This camshaft utilizes Tomei's proprietary Velocity, Acceleration, Lift, and Control (VALC) profile. This advanced design promotes faster valve opening and extended duration, leading to increased lift and a larger area under the valve lift curve. The result is enhanced engine power output. Crucially, the VALC profile manages valve closure at a slower rate, which helps mitigate potential valve train issues and increases component longevity. Precision machining to strict tolerances ensures smooth and accurate valve clearance adjustments. Furthermore, tight phase angle tolerances minimize the risk of valve timing discrepancies. Tomei's research indicates significant variations in phase angle among competing camshafts, highlighting the importance of their manufacturing precision for reliable valve timing.
