This kit is specifically engineered for the BMW E82 1-Series and features a 356mm rotor diameter with a 32mm thickness, paired with a robust 8-piston caliper system. The calipers are precision-machined from a one-piece billet of aerospace-quality aluminum, offering exceptional strength, light weight, and resistance to corrosion. This construction eliminates potential weak spots found in cast or welded calipers, preventing fracturing, warpage, and failure over time. The aluminum pistons are protected by heavy-duty seals capable of withstanding racetrack temperatures, ensuring smooth operation and preventing drag. An opposed-piston design guarantees consistent brake pad grip and wear, while standard features include high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The two-piece rotor design contributes to light weight and fade-free performance. The outer rotor sections can expand and contract independently, reducing warping due to heat buildup. The lightweight 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum center sections act as heat sinks, dissipating heat effectively and lowering rotational mass for improved brake response. For daily driven vehicles, cross-drilled rotors are recommended for cooler operation, while slotted rotors are advised for more track-focused use. The kit includes SC5 Street Pads, with an option to upgrade to RCI Race Pads for extreme track conditions. D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines are also included, reducing line expansion under pressure for quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel. Customization options include a wide range of caliper colors, from standard shades like Orange, Red, Black, and Yellow to premium high-polish and glassy/hard anodized finishes.
